Ademco Programming Cheat Sheet

Ademco Programming is quite simple. First you enter programming mode by using your Installer Code Then Code Key "8" Then 00. Some Vista Series Systems you anly need one 1 "0". Please refere to your installation guide.

Once in programming do the following. * + Field Number fills the field in Or Changes the value of the field. # + Field Number makes the system read the field values back to you.

The following are the basic Ademco programming setup values for A Vista 10Se. These Fields Need Changing From Default Values.
See Your Programming Guide For Other Vista Systems As The Field Values Do Vary With Different Ademco Systems.

Filed # Insert  Value Description Of What The Field Value Does. Further Descriptions And Warnings
* + 20 1 Changes Your Installer Code. Do Not Change It Till You Are Completely Done Programming And You Are Completely Familure With The Programming Sequence.
* + 21 1 Enables Quick Arm Feature. Make Sure That You Have Set A Master Code Into The System. If You Do Not And You Quick Arm The System You Will Lock Yourself Out Of The Panel.
* + 22 1 RF Receiver Select Insert A 1 For 5800 Series Receiver Only If You Are Using Wireless. If You Have No Wireless Leave This Field Set To "0" NOT USED.
* + 30 3 Alarm Siren/Bell Timeout 12 Minutes You Can Change The Time That The Siren Resets After An Alarm Has Gone Off. See Your Programming Manual For Other Values For Other Timeout Durations
* + 41 Ph# Enter Your Central Station Primary Phone Number Here. Always Start With A 1 + Area Code If Not In Your Area. Do Not Use If You Have No Central Station Hookup.
* + 43 Sub Id Your 4 Digit Central Station Account Number Do Not Use If You Have No Central Station Hookup.
* + 43 1 This Field Sets Your Panel To Tone Dial Rather Than Old Rotary Dial. Most Panels Now A Days HAve This Defaulted To "1". Refere To Your Manual.
* + 45 7 Standard Report Format Contact ID. Use This As Todays Standard For The System To Communicate With Central Station Receiver.
* + 48 0 Dialer Delay Always Set This To "0". Otherwise The Dialer Will Wait 15 Seconds Before Dialing Central Station On Any Alarm Except For Panics.
Below Are Report Code Values. If The Field Requires 2 Digite Then Enter 1+0 IE: 10 For A Report Code Of 1 To Enable Contact ID Report.
* + 62 1 AC Loss Report Code This Will Allow The System To Send A Report To Central Station.
* + 63 1 Main System Low Battery Report Code This Will Allow The System To Send A Report To Central Station.
* + 67 1 RF Transmitter Low Battery Report Code This Will Allow The System To Send A Report To Central Station.
* + 73 1 AC Restore Report Code This Will Allow The System To Send A Report To Central Station.
* + 74 1 Main System Low Battery Restore Code This Will Allow The System To Send A Report To Central Station.
* + 75 1 RF Transmitter Low Battery Restore Report Code This Will Allow The System To Send A Report To Central Station.
* + 56     Is Your Zone Programming Section Or Page 2 Of Programming. First Enter * + 56 And You Will See Another Screen Sometimes That Says Custom Alpha Descriptors. Just Hit " * " To Continue. You Will Then See " ZONE 1" On Your Display. If You Wish To Setup Another Zone Other Than 1 Simple Enter That 2 Digit Zone Number Here And Hit " * " To Continue.

You Will Then See A Screen Which We Call A Zone Value Screen. That Tells You What If Any The Zone Is Setup For. ZN=Zone# RP=Report Code ZT=Zone Type PT=Partition # IF Panel Has Partitions IF YOU HAVE WIRELESS THE FOLLOWING APPLIES= RF=RF Transmitter Type. L=Sensor Loop Of That Particular Transmitter.

You Will Then See ZONE TYPE. Below Are The Most Common Zone Types. Please Refere To Your Installation Or Programming Instructions For Other Zone Types.

00=NOT USED
01=Entry/Exit Delay Loop Alarm
03=Perimiter Instant Alarm
04=Interior Motion Alarms
06=Silent Panic
07=Audible Panic
09=FIRE Smokes Heats Etc

Once You Have Set The Zone Type Hit " * "

You Will Be In Your Report Code Setup Screen. You Want A 10 On The Right Of Each Zone Weither You HAve Central Station Or Not.

The Report Screen Will Look Like The Following. 00 - 00 - 10 If The Screen Reads All "0"'s Thes Simply Hit "01" And A "10" Will Appear On The Right Of Your Screen. Once You Have A "10" On The Right Of Your Screen Hit " * "

If You Are Programming A Wireless Device The System Will Prompt You To Enroll The Wireless Device ID Number.
If You Are Programming A Hardwired Device The System Will Now Ask You If You Want To Programe In Alpha English Descriptors For The Keypad To Display. If Yes Press " 1 " For Yes. If No Press " * " To Start Programming Your Next Zone.

If Yes Press "1" The Zone Number That Your Working On Will Appear As IE: ZONE 01.
To Start Programming Your English Descriptor For That Zone, Enter " * " Then The Zone Number You Are On.
IE: If You Are On Zone 1 Re Enter " * " Then " 01"
The System Will Now Be Asking For A 3-Digit Word Number. Refere To Your Installation Guide For The Word To Number Conversion Alpha Descriptor Table. Once You Have Entered Your First Word Hit " 6 " To Continue To Word # 2. Enter Word # 2 3-Digit Number Then Hit " 6 " To Continue To Word # 3. Once You Are Done With Any Or All 3-Words Hit " 8 " To Exit Alpha Descriptor Programming.

You Will Now Be At The Next Zone You Wish To Programe. If You Want Another Zone Than The One Displayed Simple Enter The Zone Number And Hit Star, Then Follow The * + 56 Instructions Again.
