Tips for DSC Power Series & DSC Envoy

• Enter Program Mode – “ * + 8 + 5555 You Are In Program Mode. (DSC Power 6 [PC1555MX] And 832)

•                                          * + 8 + 5020 (For DSC 864)

•                                          * + 8 + 4020 (For 4020 Maxsys) 

•  The Armed Light Will Turn On. (All Keypads)

•  The keypad will display “Enter Section followed by 3-dashes” ( LCD Keypad )

•  The Armed Light Will Turn Off And The Ready Light Will Turn On. ( All Keypads )

• Enter ALL Information To Fill Complete Section.

• If all section information is not entered the system will not accept the change.

•  # + # To Exit Installer Program Mode. 

• First Zone Definitions. Most Common Types Are:

•  00=Not Used (Any Zones Currently Not In Use.)

• 01=Delay (Any door you Lock And Unlock The House With.)

• 03=Instant (All Zones Not Motions Or Fire Or Delay.)

• 04=Interior (All Motion Detectors.)

• 08=Fire (All Smoke Or Heat Or CO Gas Detectors.)

• To Program Zones 1-8 You Enter Section [001]

• To Program Zones 9-16 You Enter Section [002]

• To Program Zones 17-24 You Enter Section [003]

• To Program Zones 25-32 You Enter Section [004]

• ETC.

• Let’s Do Zones 1-8.  Below Is A Typical Zone List.

• Type In: 01-03-03-03-04-08-08-08 [You Just Defined Zones 1-8]. 

• If A Zone Os Not Used Just Enter A “00” In For That Zone.

• Example: 01-03-03-00-04-08-00-08 [Now Zones 4 And 7 Are Not Used]. 

• #+ # To Exit Program Mode.

• To Refresh: All Sections Are To Be Filled In Completely For The System To Save The Changes.

• Step 2= Enter All Data Or Numbers To Fill That Entire Section.

• Step 3= # + # To Exit.

• Most Common Programming Sections

• PC-1555 Power 6 And The Power 832 Are Basically The Same Programming Fields.

• The 864 Is A Little Different And Will Be Noted Below.

• We are going to do this in order of section numbers. Any master codes or installer codes should be left at factory default till you are done and using the system for a couple of days. ALWAYS write down your codes when you change them on your programming book and keep it in your files.

• This first section you enter the field and re type in the numbers in the fields to complete your changes.

• Any changes change the number otherwise type in the default.

• You Can Leave Factory Defaults In Place except The Following.

• Section [001] Zone Types For Zones 1-8 - Zones 1-16 [Power 864] (Shown Above)

• Section [002] Zone Types Zones 9-16 – Zones 17-32 [Power 864]

• Section [003] Zone Types Zones 17-24 – Zones 33-48 [Power 864]

• Section [004] Zone Types Zones 26-32 – Zones 49-64 [ Power 864]

• Section [005] Bell Cut Off. This section has multiple entries. It incorporates Entry And Exit Times. The factory default for the entry/exit is usually fine the last entry “004” Bell cutoff can be changed to 012 or 016 minutes, so we do this. Enter Section [005] Then Enter “030+045+120+012”. This will give you a bell cut off time of 12 minutes leaving the Entry delay 1 - 30 seconds, Entry delay 2 - 45 seconds, Exit delay 120 seconds.

• The 864 system has more to fill in although mostly programs the same way. See The 864 Programming Manual.

• Section [006] Installer Code. Leave It Alone Till You Are All Done DO NOT CHANGE RIGHT AWAY!

• Section [007] Master Code. Leave It Alone Till You Are All Done DO NOT CHANGE RIGHT AWAY!

• The following sections are as we discussed above about turning on and off Segments. Simply enter field and using the number keys turn on and off your segments on the display.

• Section [202] Partition Assignment For Zones 1-8. Factory assigned to partition 1 OR ALARM SYSTEM #1. Unless You are splitting up the system to TWO systems leave this factory defaulted.

• Section [203] Partition Assignment For Zones 9-16. If you have more than 8-zones then you have to assign them to a partition. So here we go. Lets say you want to activate zones 9-13 you would enter section [203] then turn on 1-5 segments using the 1-5 number keys. Leave 6, 7 and 8 off. You just told the system to see zones 9-13 on partition 1 and zones 14,15 and 16 are still deactivated.

• Sections [204] Through [209] are the same as above for different zones and partitions.

• More or less you have programmed the system. The following is optional communications setup for central station and alpha English display of zone names.

• Arming your Security System:

  Close all sensors, i.e. stop motion and close doors and windows. The Ready (green light) indicator should be on.
  To arm, press and hold the Away key for 2 seconds or enter your Access Code.
  The Armed (red light) indicator will turn on, and the keypad will beep down the exit delay.

  Arming Error:

  An error tone will sound if the system is unable to arm. This will happen if the system is not ready to arm, i.e. sensors are open or if an incorrect user code has been entered. If this happens press the # key and ensure that all sensors are secure and try again.

  Disarming your security system:

  Enter your Access Code to disarm anytime the system is armed (red light) armed indicator is ON.

  Disarming Error:

  If an invalid code is entered, the system will NOT disarm and a 2-second error tone will sound. If this happens press the # key and try again. The system will allow you three (3) opportunities to disarm; if a valid Access Code is not entered the keypad will go into lock out for one (1) minute.

  Arming in “Stay Mode”:

  Stay arming will bypass the interior protection, i.e. motion detectors, and arm the perimeter of the system, doors and windows. Close all sensors, i.e. stop motion and close doors and windows. The ready (green light) indicator should be ON.
  Press and hold the “STAY” key for 2 seconds, or enter your Access Code, and DO NOT leave the premise.
  The Armed (red light) indicator and Bypass or System indicator will turn on. The system will automatically bypass certain interior motion detectors.

  False Alarm:

  In the event of a false alarm please follow this procedure; enter your Access Code to silence the alarm, you can then wait for Central Station to call you. You will need your password to cancel the dispatch, or you can contact your Central Station directly, again you will need your password and account number.

  Fire Alarm:

  If you have smoke detectors on your system and accidentally set them off i.e. burned toast, bathroom steam, etc., enter your Access Code to silence the alarm, follow the above procedure for contacting Central Station.

  Resetting Fire Alarm:

  To reset the smoke detectors, once the air has cleared, press and hold the “RESET” key for 2 seconds or press *72.

  Alarm Memory:

  When an alarm occurs, the Memory or System indicator will turn on. To view which zone or sensor generated the alarm, press *3. The memory or system indicator and corresponding sensor number will flash, i.e. sensor 3.
  Press # to exit. To clear the alarm memory, arm and disarm the system.

  Adding or Deleting Access Codes:

  In addition to the Master Access Code, you can program up to 32 additional User Access Codes. Press *5, plus your Master Access Code. The Program or System indicator will begin to flash and the Armed indicator will turn on. Enter the 2-digit number to be programmed, i.e. 06 for user code 6. The Ready indicator will turn on. Enter the new 4-digit access code, or press * to erase it. When programming is complete, enter another 2-digit code to program or press # to exit.

  Time & Date Programming:

  Press *6; plus your Master Access Code. The Program or System indicator will begin to flash, and the Armed indicator will turn on. Press 1 to select Time and Date. The Ready indicator will turn on. Enter the time in 24-hour format (military time) HH:MM, followed by the date (MM: DD: YY). Press # to exit programming.

  Door Chime:

  To turn the door chime function on or off, press and hold the Chime key for 2 seconds or press *4.
