X-10 XPCP Single Gang Phase Coupler.
Used When Your X-10 Signal Is Not Working On Half The Electric Of Your Building.
Installs in any single gang electrical box to couple both phases of the 220V circuit.
Most residences have 2 phase electric systems. 3 Phase is usually commercial or
industrial. Your circuit breaker panel has 2 120 volt feeds from the electric company. All
you have to do is to take a 14/3 and run it from your electric panel to a single gang box
that you can install yourself next to or near your electric panel. Then you would tie in
the neutral, Then 1 phase lets say black wire to 1 breaker (you can double up on any 15
amp breaker with what is already there) then run the second wire lets say red wire to a
second breaker on the other phase as above.
When you open your circuit breaker panel you will see 2 feeds at top. Then you will see
the 2 phases feed down staggering every level.
EXAMPLE: Tie in--- Red wire to breaker 2 --- Black wire to breaker 4 and White wire to
neutral. You now have both phases connected to X-10.
NOTE:
- Do Not Tie Into "TWIN" Breakers On The Same Phase It
Will Not Work. IE: 2 Switches on 1 Breaker In One Slot.
- DO NOT TIE ACROSS A 240 VOLT Double Breaker, As The Load, Surge
Might Damage The XPCP Unit.
